Mission
As the community center of the campus, the mission of the University Centers the Price Center and Student Center is to provide a welcoming environment to all students, meet the daily needs of the campus community, enrich students experience of campus life, and encourage members of the campus community to gather, interact, and exchange ideas and opinions. The University Centers Video Connect (UCVC) will strengthen communications for the university community by broadcasting campus announcements and promoting campus activities and events.
Introduction
All announcements broadcast on UCVC must be in compliance with the UCSD University Centers mission. The UCVC coordinator, the Graphics Supervisor and the Marketing and Programs Director assume responsibility for insuring full compliance with guidelines. Thus, in responding to requests to authorize a specific announcement, the UCVC staff reserves the right to edit or delete the text, written or visual, of material submitted for broadcasting.
Process for Broadcast Request:
1. Eligible campus organizations wishing to broadcast an announcement must complete the online UCVC Request Form. Please finish reading these procedures before linking to the form below.
2. A request must be submitted online to the UCVC Coordinator at least two weeks prior to the scheduled broadcast.
3. Upon receipt of the completed request form, the UCVC Coordinator will provide a customer copy to the person submitting the request.
4. All submissions will be reviewed by the UCVC Coordinator, who will forward a copy of the request form to the Graphics Supervisor and Marketing and Program Director for approval.
5. The UCVC Staff will communicate its approval or disapproval to the UCVC Coordinator within three (3) days of receiving the form.
6. If approved, the UCVC staff will edit and design the video flyer for broadcasting. Efforts will be made to communicate changes to the requester (where possible, given the constraints of time and resources).
7. If not approved, the UCVC Staff will notify you.
8. An announcement will be broadcast, to the extent possible, in accordance with the Frequency of Broadcast indicated on the request form. In the event of heavy volume, the UCVC Coordinator reserves the right to change the requested frequency of broadcast.
Policies and Procedures (Must agree to all) :
- Announcements may only be requested by recognized campus organizations (e.g., registered students organizations, academic programs and campus departments).
- All content advertised and broadcast must be related to the campus and to campus activities and events.
- Content must be informative, courteous, accurate, fair and not defamatory. The University Centers reserves the right to edit announcements.
- Announcements must be submitted at least two weeks prior to the scheduled broadcast.
- Announcements CANNOT be related to alcohol, drugs, sex, or tobacco.
- Announcements CANNOT be personal announcements or classified ads (e.g., car sales, room or apartment rentals).
- Announcements CANNOT be supporting partisan political purposes (e.g., political parties or candidates).
- Announcements CANNOT be regular reoccurring events for student organizations (e.g., general body meetings).
- Content person is responsible for proofing Video Connect flyer before broadcast.
- Video Connect flyer will only be broadcasted for a maximum of one week.
